07-25-2022 Safe Visitation Update

  • 12 residents and 5 staff positive for COVID
  • All units still allowing visitation under CMS guidance

Through our testing protocols and procedures, 12 residents of the Dalton Place building tested positive for COVID-19.  These residents are from the East 1 and East 2 units and one resident on West 2.  Each of the families of these residents have been contacted and made aware of their positive test results.  These residents have been isolated and will remain so until the virus has past and negative test results are achieved.  Staff caring for these residents are following CMS and CDC protocols in an effort to help prevent any cross contamination.  No residents in the Hamilton Terrace building have tested positive or shown signs or symptoms.  We also have 5 staff who have tested positive for Covid-19 and they are not allowed to return to work until they are Covid-19 negative.

Be aware that the affected units are placed under an observation period which includes ongoing testing of all staff and all residents.  Visitation is still allowed to continue as long as each visitor follows infection control protocols and no further outbreak occurs.

We encourage all visitors to join our staff in following infection control protocols including wearing masks and sanitizing hands.  Your keeping socially distanced as much as possible during your visit is highly encouraged as well.

If you have any questions concerning these matters, you can contact the Unit Manager or Social Worker.  You can reach us using our number 423-490-1599.

Thank you for allowing us to care for you and/or a loved one of yours who is here at Standifer Place.

Sincerely,

06-13-2022 Safe Visitation Update

  • 3 staff positive for COVID
  • All units still allowing visitation under CMS guidance
  • Indoor Group Activities continue

Thankfully, the resident on our 900 unit has completed the isolation period and is no longer covid positive!

We remain with 3 staff members that are off the schedule due to COVID positive test results.  They will remain off the schedule until they have completed the necessary isolation period and no longer show symptoms.

Visitation on each of the nursing units is still allowed with visitors properly self screening at the entrance of either building.  All visitors are to follow these guidelines when visiting:

  • By CDC guidance that CMS requires we follow, visitors inside the buildings are to be masked.  Because not all patients are vaccinated, visitors and patients wishing to visit without masks are to conduct their visit outdoors.  Visitors may also be required to wear additional personal protective equipment that we will supply while in the room visiting a resident depending on the status of the unit and the status of the resident. Keep in mind that our patients are at our center because their health is already compromised.  Let’s join together in helping keep them safe while inside!  Afterhours visits can be provided by contacting your loved one’s social worker.

Indoor Group Activities are continuing with infection control measures in place that includes small size groups, plenty of distancing, and mask wearing.

Feel free to contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.

02-27-2022: VISITATION UPDATE

  • 1 resident positive for COVID
  • All units still allowing visitation under CMS guidance
  • Indoor Group Activities begin

On Saturday, one resident from our A wing unit tested positive for COVID-19.  This resident has been placed in quarantine and isolation from all other residents, and the staff providing care to this resident are following CDC and CMS infection control protocols to help prevent any cross contamination.  The family of this resident has been notified.  We will continue to isolate this resident until the virus has past and we obtain a negative test result showing the resident is no longer contagious.

We are conducting on-going testing as a result of this positive case.  Should any of our ongoing testing produce other covid positive results, the family of any covid positive resident will be contacted right away, and all families will be notified of any visitation changes.

Visitation on each of the nursing units is still allowed as long as each visitor is appropriately screened at our front gate, wears a mask, follows hand hygiene protocols, and keeps socially distanced during the visit.  The only exceptions are with regard to newly admitted residents who are unvaccinated or any current resident who has tested positive for COVID 19.  Such residents must first complete an isolation period prior to any visitation.  If your loved falls under one of the two categories, you can contact their Social Worker or Unit Manager to confirm the date isolation will be completed and/or to ask about Compassionate Care visits.

You can contact the Unit Managers or Social Workers of your loved one’s unit using our number 423-490-1599 and asking for them by name.

Otherwise, all visitors of residents in both the Dalton Place and the Hamilton Terrace buildings are welcome and are to follow these guidelines when visiting:

  • By CDC guidance that CMS requires we follow, visitors inside the buildings are to be masked.  Because not all patients are vaccinated, visitors and patients wishing to visit without masks are to conduct their visit outdoors.  Visitors may also be required to wear additional personal protective equipment that we will supply while in the room visiting a resident depending on the status of the unit and the status of the resident. Indoor Group Activities are starting back slowly with infection control measures in place that includes small size groups, plenty of distancing, and mask wearing.  As the positivity rate continues to decline and if we have no outbreak within the facility, we will continue to carefully conduct these small group gatherings.
