09-16-2022: Safe Visitation Update

  • Current total of 7 positive residents and 1 staff with COVID
  • All units still allowing visitation under CMS guidance

Thankfully, we have had no new cases since the 09-13-2022 update below.  Therefore we remain with a total of 7 residents and one staff member who are positive for Covid-19.  These residents are all from the West 2 unit of the Dalton building.  Each of the families of these residents have been contacted and made aware of their positive test results.  These residents will remain under isolation until the virus has past and negative test results are achieved.  Staff caring for these residents are following CMS and CDC protocols in an effort to help prevent any cross contamination.

The COVID-19 positive staff member will remain out of work until they have completed the required protocols to be safe to return to work.  No residents in the Hamilton Terrace building have tested positive or shown signs or symptoms.

Be aware that the West 2 unit remains under an observation period which includes ongoing testing of all staff and all residents.  Visitation is still allowed to continue as long as each visitor follows infection control protocols and no further outbreak occurs.  However, Standifer Place is requesting that families and friends of West 2 residents postpone visiting at this time unless an urgent matter is present that warrant compassionate care visits.  Contact the unit manager or social worker if you have questions.  Assuming no further COVID-19 cases are discovered on West 2, normal visitation should resume later next week.

We encourage all visitors to join our staff in following infection control protocols including wearing masks and sanitizing hands.  Your keeping socially distanced as much as possible during your visit is highly encouraged as well.

If you have any questions concerning these matters, you can contact the Unit Manager or Social Worker.  You can reach us using our number 423-490-1599.

Thank you for allowing us to care for you and/or a loved one of yours who is here at Standifer Place.

Sincerely,

06-13-2022 Safe Visitation Update

  • 3 staff positive for COVID
  • All units still allowing visitation under CMS guidance
  • Indoor Group Activities continue

Thankfully, the resident on our 900 unit has completed the isolation period and is no longer covid positive!

We remain with 3 staff members that are off the schedule due to COVID positive test results.  They will remain off the schedule until they have completed the necessary isolation period and no longer show symptoms.

Visitation on each of the nursing units is still allowed with visitors properly self screening at the entrance of either building.  All visitors are to follow these guidelines when visiting:

  • By CDC guidance that CMS requires we follow, visitors inside the buildings are to be masked.  Because not all patients are vaccinated, visitors and patients wishing to visit without masks are to conduct their visit outdoors.  Visitors may also be required to wear additional personal protective equipment that we will supply while in the room visiting a resident depending on the status of the unit and the status of the resident. Keep in mind that our patients are at our center because their health is already compromised.  Let’s join together in helping keep them safe while inside!  Afterhours visits can be provided by contacting your loved one’s social worker.

Indoor Group Activities are continuing with infection control measures in place that includes small size groups, plenty of distancing, and mask wearing.

Feel free to contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.

06-10-2022 Safe Visitation Update

  • 1 resident positive for COVID
  • 2 staff positive for COVID
  • All units still allowing visitation under CMS guidance
  • Indoor Group Activities continue

One resident on our 900 unit remains positive for COVID 19 and under isolation.  The family of this resident was contacted, and none of the testing thus far of residents on this unit and staff members have resulted in any further positive results.  Testing will continue until it is determined that no further risk exists for additional cases based on this positive result.  Should other positive results be found among residents, we will take the necessary pre-cautions and notify the family immediately.

We are down to only 2 staff members that are off the schedule due to COVID positive test results.  They will remain off the schedule until they have completed the necessary isolation period and no longer show symptoms.

Visitation on each of the nursing units is still allowed with visitors properly self screening at the entrance of either building.  All visitors are to follow these guidelines when visiting:
