Wound Prevention

Wound prevention and care plays a very important role at The Health Center at Standifer Place. Our facility provides short and long-term care for those residents coming from a hospital, home, or other facilities. Under the direction of our Wound Prevention Coordinator, we place great emphasis on the prevention of wounds as well as the treatment of any and all problems affecting resident’s skin integrity.

Each resident has an individualized plan of care developed that addresses wound prevention, treatment, and care.  The wound prevention and care team consist of five specially trained nurses. Assisting the facility wound nurses are the Medical Director, Nurse Practitioners and consultant wound care physicians from local hospitals.  HCSP incorporates technology to assist us in wound care such as, Clinitron beds, which provide unparalleled pressure reduction.  We also utilize wound vacs for the most serious wounds.  These high tech devices can be used along with our comprehensive wound care program.
